Nike Triax C5 Heart Rate Monitor – Black/Sport Red

Posted by top4play on September 11, 2008

Nike Triax C5 Heart Rate Monitor – Black/Sport Red – SM0015-012
When we were designing this heart rate monitor, we called it “The Basic.” Real simple. A few special features that you don’t need to use if you don’t want to. Continuous heart rate display. One heart rate zone. You select a high and a low heart rate. The watch beeps outside the zone, and at the end of a workout, tells you how long you were able to stay in the zone. Also shows average heart rate at the end of a workout. A simple stopwatch. Tells the time and date. Safe in a swimming pool. The watch and the chest strap both have a battery hatch, so you can change the battery yourself.

Customer Review: perfect for me so far

I had a polar monitor that continually would not register in mid-workout. In contrast, I have not had a single problem with the Nike Triax (so far, one month). Additionally, the Nike watch allows the buyer to change the batteries themself, but the Polar monitors do not-one has to send it in to Polar when the battery inevitably wears out.

Customer Review: Nike Heart rate monitor

Overall I love this heart rate monitor, but the only thing I don’t like is that the watch is a little big.

Freelance Photography – Working Ahead With Undimmed Enthusiasm

When I was in the publishing world, one of the drawbacks was that we were always working seasons ahead of ourselves, sometimes years ahead. The fact that it was frosty outside bore no relation to the summery feel that we had to give to the current project. And, that is how a freelance has to work if he or she is aiming to sell to magazines. The lucky ones will be able to head off to sunny climes to make their summery images to offer to publications in our winter but we lesser mortals have to make our images and then wait about six to eight months before we can submit them to our chosen markets.

The exception may be summer holidays type shots as many magazines devote a fair proportion of their winter issues to summer holidays.

By high summer you should have already submitted your autumn selections and be thinking of images that say ‘winter’. Those pictures of frost and snow that you took last year should be pulled from your files ready for submission.

Perseverance and confidence are two of the attributes that freelances need but there is another that we all need in abundance if we are to survive this precarious existence that is freelancing. And that is enthusiasm.

It was Ralph Waldo Emerson, the nineteenth century American author, poet and philosopher who said, “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm” and that is a quote that is stuck to my office wall. When rejection after rejection of what we consider our best work is landing with a plop on the mat day after day, the temptation to quit can rise and threaten to overwhelm us but, if we are truly enthusiastic about being a freelance, we will lift our drooping heads and start preparing the next submission. That is how a freelance succeeds.

Winston Churchill put it rather well when he said, “Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.” And, of all people, he should have known.

David Bigwood is an Australian based writer and photographer who sells his words and pictures regularly. He was a columnist for F2 Freelance + Digital magazine for three years. His website is http://www.bigwoodpublishing.com where you will find some of his published articles.

Downloading Free PSP Games

Posted by top4play on September 5, 2008

What is the best way to maximize the use of your psp? This is simple. Play as many games as possible, for as little bit of money as possible. This is why everyone is now downloading psp games or movies.

At first being able to download games and movies will not be free. There will be a very small one time fee to sign up. After this fee you will be able to download as many games and movies you want for free. The site is considered to be free because the number of games or movies you are able to download compared to the fee is next to nothing. Consider it like you going to your local game store and buying one game. After that purchase you would be able to go back there and take as many games as you want. Sounds like a simple decision to me.

Downloading games and movies will be very easy and extremely fast. Legit downloading sites will offer a “contact us” option just in case you have any questions. They will also guarantee all downloads to be 100% legal and virus free. Keep in mind that there are still several illegal sites out there. Those sites cannot guarantee the downloads to be virus free and you run the risk of being caught doing something illegal.

Most of the downloading sites will offer all the latest games and movies that are offered in stores. Plus you never have to worry about them running out of stock. Another great benefit to these sites is that you are not just limited to psp games and movies. You will also be able to download music and videos for your psp.

Imagine all this freedom for a small one time fee. So the only question is; why havent you started downloading psp games and movies yet?

Achievements Review – Call of Duty 4

Posted by top4play on September 5, 2008

Call of Duty 4 has a great mix of achievements for the Xbox 360 that really help to enrich the game.

First, there are the basic achievements that you will unlock while progressing through the storyline, and if you’re feeling 1337, you can unlock additional achievements by passing through each individual level on Veteran Difficulty. You can also unlock an achievement for beating the game, and an additional achievement if it was done on Hardened or Veteran difficulty. The best thing about the achievements in Call of Duty 4 is that there are achievements that involve skill, but aren’t so incredibly difficult that you find yourself playing the game over and over in certain areas just to unlock the achievement. Some examples of these are . “Three of a Kind – Kill 3 enemies in a row with your knife in the single player campaign”, and “Daredevil – Kill an enemy while blinded by a flashbang in the single player campaign.” There are also three find and collect achievements: two where you have to find enemy intel, and one where you have to destroy all the TV’s showing Al-Asad’s speech. These achievements help to change up the pace of the game a bit, but as always, I would recommend using an Achievement Guide or Strategy Guide as you play through each mission.

There is nothing groundbreaking about the achievements in Call of Duty 4, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a solid achievement list. In fact, I’m glad Activision didn’t try to go overboard with difficult achievements, as with many FPS’s (classic example: F.E.A.R.). Overall, you should find unlocking these achievements rewarding, although it will be quite challenging for most to get all of the Veteran Achievements.

Call of Duty 4 has 37 achievements for total of 1000 gamerscore points, all of which can be unlocked in the single player campaign for the Xbox 360.

-Kerry Studnicki is the owner of Achieve360Points.com and has been writing about Xbox 360 Achievements since the release of the Xbox 360 in 2005.

Xbox 360 Elite Bundle

Posted by top4play on September 3, 2008

Introducing Xbox 360 Elite, the premier Xbox 360 console package that includes a massive 120GB hard drive, a HDMI port, and HDMI cable, all wrapped up with a premium black finish. Xbox 360 Elite also includes a black wireless controller and black Xbox LIVE headset. Xbox 360 Elite has enough space for a whole library of Xbox LIVE Arcade games as well as downloadable high-definition TV shows, movies, music, and all the other content available from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
Customer Review: Why? Because its black and cool looking!
Never gives me any problems, nice shiny look to fit in the spot Im putting it, can do a lot with it! Well my review is not going to compare the old 360 with this one as I dont own an old 360 rather tell you what I enjoy about this one which could be the same as the old one, I dont know… Coming soon you can watch Netflix which is great. I love you can rent movies and watch them from your xbox. I can link up to my computer as a media extender to watch movies on the big screen! The hdmi cord comes with it plugged right in to my radio and sounds LOUD and Crisp! Must say I like the sound quality better then the ps3. I watch all my dvds on it ( no blue rays ) have to have a ps3 do something I guess. Chat with my friends online! Check to see what new awards they got on the games I got and set out to beat them! I like it? ya. I like the games I play? Duh (wouldnt play them if I didn’t). What makes the games on the 360 better then playing them on other consels? I get little creidt that I achieved something that my friend can see showing I did it. Others do not do this. Plus many games you just cant get that 360 makes (Halo3). Anything you do not like about it? When I first got it, I had a digital input in my radio and an hdmi port in my tv, but the extender will not let you plug an hdmi and a digital cord into the 360 together so I had to use the yellow red and white. Upgraded my radio and now it has the hdmi port (reason I got it) and works great. Why do you want such a huge hard drive? I rent moveis all the time and download clips and free shows, free games, new maps and extras! I have a bunch of games my dad likes saved right to the hard drive. Why have more then you need? Because less is a worse feeling!
Customer Review: X-box 360 is the best for serious gamers
I only gave this product 2 stars because I already had a X-box 360. It got the red rings of death and I couldnt get microsoft to send me a box so i could send it to be fixed. So I bought the cheapest Elite I could find on this site. At first it was great. Then I noticed about an hour in the game graphics would warp like theold Nintendo cartridges would when not in the system right, but right enough that they would still play. I thought it was the game at first, as I had played other games in the Elite and non of them had the same problem, until I played Halo 3 in my Elite and it did the same things in less than an hour. Afte that I decided to return it and finally get on Microsoft about getting my old 360 repaired. The 360 is really the best system for serious gamers. If you have a wii, most likely you play it when friends are over or if you want a good work out, not if you want to do actuall gaming with quality games. The ps3 has almost no titles, while the 360 while not the best in graphics and not always kid friendly has the widest selection of games for the serious and grown up gamer. For that I would give the system 5 starts but this particular system I bought only recieved 2.

I was one of the one that waited in line at Wal-Mart for 12 hours, waiting on midnight to come so I could be one of the few lucky guys to be one of the first with an Xbox 360. I got it home and played for hours on end for months until one day I went to turn my 360 on and I saw 3 red rings of death (RRoD). I was puzzled, not sure what to do. I turned it on and off, on and off, I figured it just got hot or dusty or something so I let it rest for a few days. I came back to play it and still nothing. After wanting to throw it through a window from the 3rd floor of my apartment I decided that I shouldn’t and called Xbox told them about the RRoD and they said that they can fix it….for a price!

Well needless to say I didn’t have a choice, I boxed it up sent it in and $100 and a month later I got it back and it worked great until a couple of weeks ago, I went to snuggle up on the couch with my girlfriend to watch a scary movie and……yep that’s right RRoD! Well I don’t have another DVD player because I have a n Xbox360 and a high def TV! Once again xbox got me!

Again after sending it in and a month or so later I received it back and it works fine….for now. There are ways to fix the dreaded RRoD in an hour or you get your money back no questions asked. If only I would Known how to fix it the night I tried to watch a scary movie with my girlfriend I could have fixed my xbox and who knows….maybe still have a girlfriend!

Xbox has said that this happens due to total hardware failure, not sure why this has happened to so many people but apparently its costing Microsoft a ton of money to fix the issue. There are a few ways to fix this dreaded problem.

1) you can just buy a new 360

2) you can send it off to Microsoft and wait for them to get around to it, or

3) there are informative site on the net that can tell you how to fix this issue.

So basically those are your options.

Well good luck with what ever you decide to do!

Thanks!

Don’t let the red ring of death kill your xbox 360!

Xbox 360 Faceplates Carbon

Posted by top4play on September 3, 2008

The Xbox 360 Silver Faceplate gives you the option of customizing the look of your new gaming system. This high-quality faceplate helps prevent scratching or peeling, while giving your 360 a completely new&different look.

So there you are, deep in the middle of a Call Of Duty online match, when the Xbox 360 freezes and three red rings light up. You know what’s happening because your buddy’s Xbox 360 did the same thing and it took him a month to send it in and get it repaired. You don’t want to wait that long to get back to playing your favorite games, so what do you do?

Can you fix this problem yourself or are you going to have to go through the long process of sending your console back to Microsoft for a repair?

Before sending it back, there are some methods you can try to get you back up and running. Try these before you do anything else.

Turn your Xbox 360 off and then power it back on. Are the lights green or are they red? If they are green you are good to go, but understand that the issue may come back to haunt you sooner or later.

There are four quadrants of lights that try to point to the problem.

If only one light is red, try unplugging the power and all cables from your unit. Plug them back in and check the lights again.

If the second light is red, it is more than likely an overheating issue. Is your Xbox 360 located in a well-ventilated area? If not, try removing from your entertainment center, let it cool for awhile, and then power it back on again.

If all three lights are red, you are looking at a major hardware failure, one that may require the unit to be shipped back to the manufacturer for repair. The process involves calling Microsoft for a “coffin”, a shipping box, to send the unit back. That takes a few days, then you ship the console back and wait for your unit to be shipped back to you, a very laborious and boring process.

Don’t fear the red ring of death!

If you don’t want to ship your Xbox 360 back, try fixing it yourself with this handy guide:

Customer Review: Great customer service
I’ve seen some previous reviews and highly disagree with ‘em. People, if you wanted memory alongside this, you shoulda read the description better. As for me, these people have done nothing but watch my back. I purchased one way back in January and it still runs smooth as silk. I had all my cords and memory and whatnot from my previous and busted 360. and in my opinion, it ran better. When I went to buy another as a gift for a friend, the first thing that happened was they asked me if it was because the last one I bought was busted already. They gave me instructions that were not only beneficial but very kind. These people look out for their customers unlike the rest of of the customer services I dealt with. I for one have never once made a regret of buying this. But for those who just rush shop and not pay attention, then, yeah, let the buyer beware.
Customer Review: Good System
We love the Xbox, only problem is once in a while it refuses to read our disks! Have to keep trying to load CD, eventually they are played, but sometimes takes a while, otherwise it’s great!

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames

Posted by top4play on September 2, 2008

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is an explosive open-world action game set in a massive, highly reactive, war-torn world. When a power-hungry tyrant messes with Venezuela’s oil supply he sparks an invasion that turns the country into a war zone. But for you, international crisis is all upside: You are a mercenary, and you profit from chaos. You are not a soldier. You don’t have to play by anyone’s rules. You have your own code: you will fulfill the terms of the contract, no matter what. If you see it, you can buy it, steal it, or blow the living crap out of it. Play your own way, or play with the help of a friend in the new co-op multiplayer mode. And remember rule #1 for mercenaries: EVERYBODY PAYS.
